We are roughly 4 weeks in now with the Covid-19 virus. A Term we are becoming familiar with is flatten the curve. Our focus is on avoiding contact with each other to reduce the spread of the virus so as not to overwhelm our health service with a large number of severe cases together.
There is another way of helping to achieve this that we haven’t been talking as much about. Supporting our own immune systems so as to be less suceptable if we do come in contact. The majority of severe cases here in Ireland have been those who are immune-compromised, the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. This shows us that those with a stronger defence (immune system) are less suceptable to more severe infections. This in turn would suggest if we can all strengthen our immunity while we wait, this will help reduce the number of severe cases our health services have to deal with. So how do we do that?
There is so much we can do to tip the scales in our favour.
