We are fascinated by pearly white teeth today, the brighter the better seems to be the order of the day, but how often do we think of the health of our mouth and gums?
What would you say if I told you that poor oral health can have an affect on heart health? The bad bacteria and biofilm that can grow in the mouth, can get into the blood stream from the mouth, this is part of the reason why it is important to take notice to bleeding gums. Another aspect of oral health, that most don’t realize, is that halitosis (bad breath) is a symptom of issues in the digestive tract. If you focus on mending the digestive issues you will get rid of the halitosis. The bad breath is just a sign that something else is going on in your body that may or may not be more serious. So what do I do to maintain good oral health? 1- Aloe Vera based tooth gel, fluoride free - this helps to balance the pH in the mouth, strengthens the enamel, fights bacteria, alkalises and is minty fresh 2 - Activated charcoal - powder not paste - dip wet toothbrush in powder and then clean teeth and mouth until all the charcoal has gone - activated charcoal will chelate the toxins and bad bacteria in your mouth (do not use on crowns, dentures or veneers) 3 - herbal mouthwash - i use a mouthwash formula I make with myrrh, Mint & a variety of other herbs. Your mouth is far more important to your overall health than you may have thought, look after it. Bad breath (hallitosis) is a symptom of digestive issues, so be sure to check your digestion if you are constantly chewing gum or sucking on mints due to a potty mouth. Check in with a good Nutritional therapist and herbalist if you need help to get in control of your digestive health. Remember every symptom we have is a sign form the body of something deeper going on, it's just a case of knowing what you are looking for and how you can bring it back into balance once more For an appointment please contact the clinic.
