We can get any fruit or vegetable at any time of the year, but is this always a good thing?
When they are shipped long distance they are often picked before ripe, before they have developed their best level of nutrients. They take time to be shipped so are not always as fresh as they could be. The other factor is our body has different needs at different times of the year. Salad is perfect in summer but not sufficient in winter, whereas root vegetables are perfect in winter but can feel a bit heavy on a warm summers evening. That's why I always try to eat local, organic and in season. This list is to help you start:) Give it a go and see how you feel:(
