For those of you that suffer with candida, you may have heard of Biofilm
Biofilm are a group of one or more types of microorganisms. They can grow on a variety of surfaces, the most commonly known is tooth plaque. Microorganisms that form biofilm include bacteria, fungi and protests. It is important to attack the microfilm when trying to destroy candida. The good news is there are certain herbs and nutrients that are known to disrupt biofilm- Andrographis - herb Apigenin - found in certain fruits and vegetables, parsley, onions, oranges, tea, chamomile, wheat sprouts and some seasonings Baicalein - found in herb scutallaria baicalensis Berberine - found in herb Berberis Boswelia - herb Black cumin oil Cinnamon - herb Curcumin - herb Eugenol - found in herbs - tulsi, clove Gentian - herb Ginkgo - herb Kaempferol - found in many fruits vegetables and herbs, including grapes, tomatoes, broccoli, tea, and ginkgo biloba Mangosteen - fruit - (Garcinia mangostana) Naringenin - found in citrus fruits and tomato skins Neem - herb Oregano - herb Quercitin - found in fruits and vegetables, especially onions, citrus, and apples. Other sources include dark berries, grapes, and olive oil. Green tea and red wine Rosmary - herb St. John’s wort - herb Vanilla - herb Killing candida needs a well thought out plan - * Eliminate sugar, dairy, gluten, starchy foods, alcohol, caffeine * Increase - Greens, non starchy veg, protein grains (quinoa, millet, buckwheat), fermented foods * proper food combinations * alkaline diet * heal leaky gut - Aloe Vera, Slippery elm, L- Glutamine, Biotin, Bone broths * detox - body brush, juice, fiber, baths(epsom salts), enemas, sweat it out (sauna and steam) yoga * anti-fungals- garlic, grapefruit seed extract, Paul d’arco, golden seal, olive leaf, cloves * boost immune system - echinacea, vitamin C So if you are dealing with a candida issue (thrush, fungal infection, athletes foots, etc) or oral plaque then don’t forget to kill of the biofilm. There is a lot of information out there about candida but it generally needs the help of a professional to get rid of it, it’s not a DIY issue.
